Now I have upgraded to Windows 7 -64Bit, and they did not play This is a serious concern as they are important data videos So I looked for the codec install files on the web and managed to find a copy and install it (iv5setup). Hopefully someone here can lend a hand Thanks. I have 600 GB of avi files encoded with the Indeo.5.10 codec that play fine on XP. However, for T2X I cant seem to find a VP3 Codec for Windows 7 (or vista, for that matter) and the one included with T2X isnt working. While this is a nice way to see a list of all installed codecs on a system it does not help much if you need more information, for example the location of the codec on your hard drive. One problem: I cant get the movies to play at all, which seems ironic considering Thief 1/2s Indeo movies work fine with no trickery after installing the codec.
Select one of the two and click on the Properties button in the lower right corner.Īnother window opens called Video Codecs Properties and you can take a look at all installed codecs by clicking on the Properties tab. For example, if you install a 32-bit codec on a 64-bit operating system, the Player might not be able to play any files that require that codec. If youre running a 64-bit version of Windows, you need to install 64-bit codecs. It lists, among other things, Audio Codecs and Video Codecs. Codecs can be written for 32-bit or 64-bit operating systems. VLC will also play XDCAM style TriCaster files. These codecs installed automatically with any Apple ProApp (FCP-X, Motion or Compressor), you can also install the FCP-X trial which will install the codecs on a system. However, you do need the Apple ProApp codecs installed. Select the Hardware tab from the new window and take a look at the Devices entry. The advantage here is that you dont need the SpeedHQ codec on a system. Open the Windows Control Panel and click on Sounds And Audio Device Properties. Just free download the program and have a try right now.
